Our Story

Buckethead BBQ is owned and operated by David and Whitnee Guerra. We have always enjoyed cooking and entertaining for our family and friends. There’s no greater joy than each other’s company, good food, delicious local wines and microbrews; and our beautiful California weather. You could always find David by the pit and Whitnee filling someone’s glass and asking each person if they needed anything. For years we would have parties or just general get-together for no specific reason at all. Periodically we were asked by friends to cater their parties or even throw their events at our home. We never accepted any money, we just asked them cover the food and decorations expenses. I have had a lifelong passion for cooking, experimenting, and creating new recipes.

What has ultimately changed was being married to someone who is selfless and passionate about hosting others. It elevated my passion for cooking and it showed us how much fun it was to serve others. Where most people would look at it like a daunting and tiresome task, Whitnee and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We found such great satisfaction in hosting our friends, giving them a break from the daily routine of their lives, and taking on the stresses of planning an event. After catering a 50th birthday party, baby showers, and a few holiday parties, we had the idea to start a catering business. We have been very fortunate to have our family and friends by our side and we have listened to their compliments and criticisms, which has been an important part of the journey.

We are based in Roseville, California and have a great selection of meats, sides, and packages that we would love to work with you to create your own menu specifically for your catering needs.
